it is very warm in this apartment! argh. very warm. my bedroom is cooler, which is good, considerting that is where i am going to be sleeping. crazy how that happens, huh?

anyway so this morning lisa and i venture out to watch alia and lacey run this 5km race. mind you... there's also a 7 mile race, which goes around the same path for a good two miles of it and then kinda veers off to the side. so one way the 5km runners will go and the other way, the 7 milers will go. so blah blah blah. alia says that she'll be done in like a half hour or so depending on heat/humidity. we figure that lace will be running with her. so 1030 rolls around and we see alia. yay... go alia. run. alright... she's done. she tells us she's getting water. she expects us to follow her, but we wave her off and continue to watch for lacey. five minutes later alia comes back and she's like... lacey was ahead of me, i started walking... didn't you see her come in. so i feel like an ass... cause i missed lacey. so we go into the little barbecue/reception field area and look for lace. we look and look. and she's not there. alia says she never passed her again on her travels. so we sit by the finish line and wonder where lacey is. and i ask alia... is there a way that she could have gotten lost... and alia's like.... not really. UNLESS she veered off to the 7miler. so after about a half hour, we figure, hope and pray that that's what happened. granted, it's not a fun thing... esp for lace.. running 7 miles when you thought you were doing 3. so after looking once more... alia retraces the race backwards... finds lacey... who ended up running 7 miles. so you see alia and lacey running the last stint to the finish line together. and it was awesome. and sensitive me had tears in my eyes. cause it was just awesome. and i was so proud of lace!!! her first race... and she did more than what she was planning on doing. she's hurting... but she's awesome. and i hope she realizes that!

so afterwards i end up going to visit my sister, bro in law and of course, my little nephew joey. who is the cutest baby alive... i swear. anyway... he was kinda just sitting there... and then... he started crying. i picked him up. he eventually stopped crying. and i rocked him and told him he was cute and that he's going to know every 80s song there is after hanging out with me. i looked at his fingers and his feet. and i looked at his eyes. and watched him stare at the ceiling... wondering what he saw. what he was looking at. he just stares. and he's cute. so cute. little joey. and then he seemed okay. kinda tired... so i put him in his car seat. and sure enough... a minute into being in his car seat... he cried. so jon took him out and put him in his swing chair thing. still crying. eventually he stopped crying after about a half an hour. and he got to sleep. and i left them when jon and my sister took him on a snooze cruise. i guess it does the trick. who knows.

hmm... i haven't really babbled in here for a while. i miss that. maybe i should do it more often, eh?

i finished the girls' guide to hunting and fishing tonight while i was in barnes & noble. i figured i might as well try and finish it considering all i wanted to do was curl up in one of those comfy chairs and read. i take so damn long to read. i read 110 pages in about 2 hours. that's a long time. i think anyway. alia could have finished five books by then. and not even kids' books.

anyway, it's hot and i want to get naked and go to bed... so that's what i'm going to do.
