hello all. once again. i think it's finally sunken in that janice is leaving. i was really sad on monday when she told us. just ask heather. she had to give me a hug at work. but it's good to know that domenic will more than likely be my new supe. fantastic. it'll be a change. but not a major one, i don't think. well, no one can be janice.... but dom is probably next in line. as far as my accounts go.
on other notes today. um... well... you are reading the diary of this week's..... coffee club winner at work. yes yes. so exciting. don't all get jealous. please, don't. i mean it. i won free lunch up to 6 dollars down in the caf. it's redeemable whenever. woo hoo. i'm a winner! i barely ever eat in the caf. but it's great that i FINALLY won this baby. ya know?
today at lunch it was me, heather, lacey and dim meadow going to perhaps my favorite restaurant... artichokes. okay... i love artichokes... but there is nothing on the menu WITH artichokes. i'm thinking it's a conspiracy. what do you think? but it is so good. i swear. i thank the Lord that maria introduced me to this place. once you pop, you can't stop. i got the chicken marsala which was quite yummy... as always. i craved it this morning at like 1130. i needed artichokes. and yay that dim meadow made it to wellington to have lunch with us. she has about as much work to do as i do. hee hee.
and then... brian sent me over the copy of the job description for his friends place. the salary is 29,503-43,270. i guess depending on experience. it doesn't seem like a bad job. i think i'd be a lot more involved there then where i am. i'd probably make AROUND the same money. maybe a little less... but if i get travel perks out of it... then there's the payback. ya know? i'm pretty excited about it. i just need to fix up my resume. put what i want in there and take out what i don't want. and make myself sound incredibly intelligent. hee hee. i am, right? but brian told me that the place where his friend works is pretty cool. laid back. ya know... my type deal. so i don't want to get my hopes up, but i think i already did.
although, i'm thinking about it. i might be sad to leave mellon. not the people. obviously, i'd miss them. but the actual company. the company that lets ken work from atlanta 2 or so weeks a month and then flies him back up to boston for the rest of the month. the company that sent domenic and eric and jen overseas to train people in the mellon operations. the company that let's lynette from practically upstate new york come in once a week to work.
but i need change. i can't do this for long. ya know? and although i'd be working for a travel agency or something.... i can bring my finance and accounting abilities to the table. ya know? oh geez.
