southern florida is SOOOOO much different than massachusetts. and don't let anyone ever tell you different. heh.

i got back around 1230 last night/this morning. and hello... culture shock... dropping 40 degrees!!! i had to put a sweatshirt and slippers on this morning because it is that cold in here. brrrr. i hope that the heat comes on soon. if not... i'm crankin' that bad boy up. so much for saving money on gas bills.

so yeah... north miami beach. it was pretty relaxing. i was totally beached out by the end of the second day... but... we went there all 4 days. i got a decent tan... and have even started peeling. i hate peeling. esp. on my face... it just looks nasty. we didn't do too much. we just kinda hung out.. went to the beach. and went out to eat. i tried to be good... but i fell into my temptations. oh well. it won't kill me. i'll just stay on program this whole week and hope for the best. regardless... i can fit into size 14s now. :) i just have to remember that... and realize that i don't want to move up to size 16s... or even further. that'll keep me on track. we went to this really good italian place called carrabarra's or something like that. it was in pompano beach. and the food there was just great. i got a salad... dressing on the side. and chicken marsala with garlic mashed potatoes. it was great. and the chicken was fire grilled... so it had that smokey taste to it. it was really good. and i had a chocolate martini. i haven't had one in a while... and i really just wanted one... even if it didn't go too well with my meal. heh. i was on vacation, dammit. but the chocolate martini was fantabulous. loved it. not as much as the dinner, but it was great.

so now i'm back in boston. i was driving home from hartford, where we took the plane from, and noticed that the pru was lit up with the saying "go sox" it made me happy to be back. not that i'm a baseball fan... but i always like to see the hometown team win. and even if i move somewhere else in the country... i'll probably still root for my home teams... cause that's where i am from! and kerry... is going to be going to the game!!! her and her beau, dan, drove up from san diego to see the game. lucky girl. she's been a huge sox fan since i can remember!! she's so pumped... i can feel it from here.

while on the beach, i finished jennifer crusie's tell me lies which is so a "beach read". i really didn't like the ending too much. i thought it was missing some umph... that the rest of the book seemed to have. maybe i'm wrong. but hey... it's my opinion so i can't be wrong, right? i really need to finish the miracle life of edgar mint. i feel like i've been on that book for ages. and it's good, but once you put it down, it's hard to pick up again. it's not a normal beach read at all. more like a sit in starbucks and read type of book. which... hey... i might do that today. who knows.

i have no idea what i should do today. i need to do laundry. that's a must. and then i was thinking of turning over my room to the "fall/winter". that's a pain getting my um...... mattress up and out and flipped, etc. maybe i'll wait til li li gets home from work so that she can help me!!:) or maybe i'll just do it this weekend!

anyway, that's it for me. i think i'm gonna go put some laundry in and then try and figure out what i'm going to do for the rest of the day!!!
