how do you catch a cloud and pin it down?

isn't it amazing how labor day morning seems so much like a sunday morning? i mean, it's the same. i swear i got an extra sunday this weekend. it doesn't feel like a holiday and it doesn't feel like a saturday morning. it truly is a monday morning. hmmm...

anyway, so it's labor day and many Americans have this day off. isn't that fantastic. we world like 300 days and get one day of rest. that seems fair. eh. i guess you have to take what you can get. although other countries get a lot more. i think australia has like 20 national holidays. that's a whole month. what do we have? 8? 10? oh well.

yesterday i went to barnes & noble to sit and read for a bit. i picked up bridget jones' diary, the miracle life of edgar mint, and white teeth and proceeded to sit down in one of those big comfy chairs and read. i usually don't pick up three books at a time to sit and read, but i was feeling adventurous. or something. so when i switched from white teeth to bridget jones i hear, "kristen, i thought it was you". so i look over to where the voice was coming from, and i see lacey's roommate laura waving happily back at me. laura's alright, but we don't really have a connection, so it was kinda awkward to talk to her. especially since i was in reading mode and to come between a reader and her literature is a sin. but i was nice and we chatted for a bit about random stuff. and then i headed back into my book. :) i ended up buying the miracle life of edgar mint. it seems like it will be pretty good. i don't know. it will be heartbreaking at best it seems from the first couple pages. it was another book that jennifer weiner read and thought was good for sharing. so, of course, i bought it. plus i know that no one else would buy it. so i would have no one to borrow from.

anyway, it's a very quiet holiday morning here. the only thing you can really hear is the press of the keys on the keyboard from my fingers. and the occassional car driving by splashing through the puddles. other than that it's pretty silent. is this what living alone is like? hmm...

what was i going to say? i was going to say something and i forget what it was. oh well. if it comes back i'll be sure to update everyone as to what it is.

my stomach is in pain. okay, i made chicken marsala last night and for some reason when i make the marsala, my stomach goes all crazy. ya know? i think it's the marsala wine. but i think the wine is great. ya know? oh well. it sucks when you enjoy something and you think that it makes you sick. tis not fun. but oh well. it happens.

i'd like to say a word in her behalf... maria... makes me... laugh

guess what song that line is from. any guesses? well... it's from "maria" on the sound of music soundtrack. which we listened to last night because we're big ass dorks. well, i am. lacey doesn't like the movie. little does she know that it's my favorite movie.

alrightie... i'm going to go and read watermelon. it seems like a pretty good book so far. i can't complain. but i will if i need to, don't you worry.
